September 26th is a day The Last of Us fans know well; it’s when the Cordyceps infection reached critical mass and the world came to a screeching halt. (And it’s also Joel Miller’s birthday, after all.)
Each year on this day since the launch of The Last of Us, Naughty Dog has taken the opportunity to share news, fun videos, and new merchandise. Today, the studio shared a special live stream where some of the new merchandise was featured and ended with a special concert from Troy Baker. It included Future Days by Pearl Jam, a song fans of The Last of Us Part II know well.
Naughty Dog warned that they wouldn’t be sharing any new game news or content from the television show, though Craig Mazin took to Threads to express his excitement at the Writers Guild of America striking a deal with studios and his hope to “spring into action,” when the strike is officially over.
Pearl Jam x The Last of Us Collaboration
If you want to get your hands on this Pearl Jam shirt, act fast! It’s only available until September 29th. (Click the image to get to the website.)
Fangamer Posters
These posters are a partnership between Fangamer, artist Greg Ruth, and Naughty Dog. The one on the left is Ellie from The Last of Us Part I, and on the right the poster pays tribute to Bella Ramsey’s Ellie from the HBO series.
They are available for pre-order (click the image) until October 10th and won’t ship until early 2024. Both posters are an 18x24 inch giclée print on 290gsm cotton rag paper using archival pigment ink.
New Merchandise
The PlayStation Gear store has a few new pieces of merch from The Last of Us, including Ellie’s backpack, a new hat, a couple of new shirts, and more. You can click the image above to bring you to the store and you can use the code TLOUDAY23 for a 20% discount on select merch until October 3rd.
Naughty Dog has a full roundup of celebrations of the day on their website, including a couple of cool in-person events if you’re in California or Florida. (Halloween Horror Nights!) Are you still holding out hope to hear more about their multiplayer game this year?
