Have you ever wanted to visit Cyrodil instead of Skyrim for the fourth or fifth time? Did the dated controls and systems of Oblivion prevent you from exploring one of the fan favorite titles of the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 era? Well, wonder no longer - Oblivion Remastered is out now.
Stealth launched today by Virtuos Studios and Bethesda Game Studios, the game is marketed as an overhaul of 2006’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion with updated graphics and rebuilt in the Unreal Engine 5. The entire contents of the title are included, as well as some extra digital goodies if you opt for the deluxe edition.
It was a poorly-kept secret that the game existed, as there have been rumors of the game’s existence for over a year. Last week, a reddit user mined screenshots and key art for the game from Virtuos’s website. The files were removed shortly after, giving credence to the rumors that it was real. Some clever fans even asked a Microsoft support chatbot about the game, who confirmed that it would release sometime this week.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is out now on Steam, Xbox, and Game Pass. Let us know if you’ll be picking up the game and if you played the original!
