Alan Wake 2 may not have won Game of the Year at The Game Awards, but there’s still reason to celebrate, now that Remedy has announced a release date for New Game Plus.
Coming in Monday in an update called “The Final Draft,” players will discover a new ending to the story that is “sure to spark speculation and theories,” according to a blog post from Remedy announcing the update. New Game Plus will also introduce new lore via new videos and manuscript pages, and more “subtle additions.”
Like with most New Game Plus experiences, you’ll keep your weapons and upgrades earned from finishing the game, especially helpful if you plan on trying out Nightmare Difficulty which is also arriving with this update.
Remedy also notes that you won’t start New Game Plus immediately with the weapons you’ve unlocked, that you’ll be able to find them in the first available shoebox for the character.
In his 10/10 review of Alan Wake 2, Robin praised the game, calling it Remedy’s “magnum opus,” and “a perfect experience that encapsulates everything they’ve learned over the decades, and evidence of what an uncompromised vision looks like while subverting expectations of what it means to be a sequel.”
“The Final Draft” update will also include performance optimizations and bug fixes and is scheduled to launch at 10 am PT/1 pm ET on Monday, December 11th. Are you looking forward to it? Let us know down below or on social media!
