Ever been stuck in the house a little too long and started anthropomorphizing and speaking to inanimate objects? Yeah, me neither. But three voice actors are about to take that a step further by allowing you to not only talk to everyday items, but potentially date them as well. This is Date Everything from Sassy Chap Games, also known as Ray Chase (Final Fantasy XV, X-Men ‘97), Robbie Daymond (Hi-Fi Rush, Critical Role), and Max Mittleman (Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, My Adventures with Superman).
The game’s premise started as a joke between the three actors in the recording booth around 2016: what if you could date literally every object in your home? But as time went on, Daymond fixated on the idea and pushed his friends to make it a reality. The trio honed the idea into a playable concept: a dating simulator where all the objects in your house came to life with the assistance of a pair of magical glasses. From there, it was simply a matter of developing characters for all these items.
The ambitious project promises 100 different household objects/characters to win over, including everything from chairs and laundry baskets to trophies and dice. Along the way, there will be mysteries to solve and secrets to uncover as you befriend (or offend) this colorful cast of characters.
The growing cast features huge names from the voice acting industry, including Troy Baker (The Last of Us), Grey Griffin (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Anjali Bhimani (Overwatch), Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3), and Matthew Mercer (Critical Role). Other big names include Mica Burton, Felicia Day, Ashley Johnson, Steve Blum, Roger Craig Smith, Ben Starr, SungWon Cho, and Erica Lindbeck.
Date Everything from Sassy Chap Games releases in June of this year. Let us know in the comments if you’ll be picking this one up!
